Chair

Gary Darby

Gary, 21, is the current WYAT Chair and is responsible for the overall running of the team. He has been in this position since May 2007, but has been a member since the group was started in Nov 2006. Gary's current aim as Chair is to lead WYAT successfully through it's first year, and leave it with a firm basis for the future.

Gary is also an active Scout leader with 3rd Wombourne Scout Group, a Supervisor with Wombourne KOSSMIC, an activity scheme run during the summer holidays for young people and a Youth Worker for Staffordshire Youth Service. He describes himself as a fun, outgoing person with good leadership skills and no spare time!

Vice Chair

James Markey

James, 16, is the current WYAT Vice Chair and is responsible along with the Chair for the overall running of the team. James has been in this position since May 2007, having been a member since November 2006. He is also one of our two representatives on the District Youth Council, Wombourne's CLP MAG commitee and a peer educator. His current aim as Vice Chair is to get involved as much as possible and do all he can to get the youth of Wombourne off the streets. Also an active Scout leader with 3rd Wombourne Scout Group and a helper with Wombourne KOSSMIC, James describes himself as willing, lovable and helpful.

James' favourite thing about living in Wombourne is all his friends, his least favourite is the lack of cheap entertainment for evenings.

Secretary

Chris Smith

Chris, 14, has been a member since November 2007. His aim in WYAT is to organise many events for the youth in Wombourne. His opinion of Wombourne is that there isn't enough for the youth to do and he knows how they feel as he lives in the village.

He is currently a student at Ounsdale and gets peoples opinons on what they want in Wombourne. He enjoys hanging around with his friends and playing football.

Henry Cleaver

Henry has been a member of the team since the beginning in November 2006. His aim as a member of the team is to pass on his experience to help make Wombourne a better place for everyone. He is also the webmaster for the WYAT website.

John Kelly

John, 18, has been a member of WYAT since the first meeting in November 2006. He lives in Wombourne and is also a leader with 3rd Wombourne Scouts and Wombourne KOSSMIC.

His favourite thing about living in Wombourne is the easy access to the surrounding facilities and the numerous activities available in the area. His least favourite thing about Wombourne is the speed bumps and litter.

John's aim as a member of WYAT is to give a better insight to what the young people are thinking around the area at his age.

Nick Jones

Nick, 17, is the current secretary, responsible for the admin side of the team. He has been in this position sinc October 2007. Nick has been a member since the beginning of WYAT in November 2006. In WYAT his aim is to help by giving ideas for the youth by the youth of Wombourne to show that their opinions matter.

Nick descrbes himself as really fun and mad, always up for a laugh and has a really friendly and bubbly personality. His favourite thing about living in Wombourne is going out with friends on a night time and having a laugh, also that Wombourne is close enough but far enough away form inner city bustle so we still have the advantages of a small rural community.

Samantha Farnath

Sam, 15, has been a member of WYAT since February 2007. She is currently the one of our two representatives on the District Youth Council. Her aim as a member of WYAT is to try her best at being a good member and particpating in all the actvities.

Her favourite thing about living in Wombourne are her friends at school and in WYAT. Her least favourite thing is school.

Amy Wilkes
Amy, 14, has been a member since December 2006. Her aim in WYAT is to provide more things for the young people of Wombourne. Her personal opinion on the village is that there are lots of uncalled for stereotypes and tension between the young and old people which she wishes to illiminate also she feels that there isnt enough activities available for the younger peopl to participate in.

Kathryn Howells

Kathryn, 13 has been a member of WYAT since February 2007. Her aim is to help organise things for the youth of the village to do. She describes herself as a happy, bubbly person easy to get on with and friendly.

Kathryn's favouite thing about living in Wombourne is everyone is friendly and all her friends live round here. Her least favourite thing is the lack of evening activities for the youth.

Edward Fenton

Ed, 16 has been a member since December 2007. His aim is to improve his teamwork skills and enjoy himself helping other people. His favourite thing about Wombourne is the local cuisine and school. He dislikes people who dislike things unreasonably.

Liam Cullen

Liam,12,has been a member since February 2008 and finds it amazing. His main ambition is to get year 7in the local secondary school more involed in events happening in the village. Being the youngest member, Liam thinks that just because people are younger they have thier own opinnions and views and they should be expressed thorugh enjoyment. At Ounsdale High Sschool Liam is really trying to get the school involved with activites that are being run by WYAT.

Rachel Hitchens

Rachel, 15, has been a member since March 2008. Her aim in WYAT is to help out young people around the local area and to make friends. Her opinion of Wombourne is that there is nothing to do around the area so there needs to be more activities for the youth. Rachel enjoys meeting up with friends and having a laugh so she enjoys coming to WYAT because she is also around her friends.
